A small sacrifice

Let me tell you a story. When I was 4 I cut my hair myself. Not the best decision ever. I ended up with boy short hair and traumatized to ever have my hair cut short. So my hair has been very long ever since then (well, once it grew out.) I had heard of locks of love, and wasn't sure I could brave the cut. And then I met some of Adam's "cancer siblings" that he has met on his journey. He has a friend named Marissa who lost her hair and tells all the little girls going thru chemo not to be afraid, that bald is beautiful too.
And she's right. While I don't want to be bald, I can make a small sacrifice for another girl who doesn't have the choice. So this is what I did:
10 inches were measured

over 10 inches were cut
sister and cousins were happy about it too!
Bagged and ready for LocksofLove
I love my new haircut, and the trauma session is over. Finally! I still have just enough length to pull it up in a ponytail when we have 115degree weather!

THE END (for now...)

Tutu's for Adam

My mom is making tutu's to help with Adam's medical bills. You can see them on her facebook page Dreamweaver braids HERE . There is a link on the page to her blog where you can order the tutus.

She also has some with *bling* that you can see Right Here. We love seeing all the fun colors she puts together. Adam really likes them, and says "thats to help with my mediful so my doctors can make me all better" He's so cute!
Only six more days of  school! In some reasons I'm excited some I'm not . One of the reasons I'm sad is I love my teacher and I will miss her. One of the reasons I'm happy is because I'm going to do swimteam! Also, even though I'm going to be helping adam and my mom, I'm excited to go to the library this summer. I'm really excited because this summer my friend and I are going to publish a book we've been writing together. Half of the money from the book sales will go to adam's "mediful" bills.

lately

So far in the past 3 weeks there have been 2 yard sales and a bake sale for Adam. All three have helped raise a lot of money for Adam's medical costs. I can finally put a dent in this pile of medical bills! There are so many good people that don't even know him, but were willing to donate items or even cash to help out. I have had my hands full of tulle making tutu's for a boutique here next month, as well as filling e-mail orders.
We had spring break so Hope played and cleaned and helped with Adam so much that she didn't blog. I can't begin to express the love that girl has for her siblings, and I am grateful, as her mother that she is willing to take on this blog as well. As far as Adam, he is playing like a normal kid again. You'd never know by watching him that his little immune system is so fragile. But the doctor says Adam is usually A-symptomatic so none of us ever really know something is amiss until it just shows up in routine bloodwork. It's a roller coaster, but for now, all the kids are smiling and playing and arguing (yep, we're normal)  like normal life has resumed.

Fundraisers for Adam

There are two fundraisers to help with Adam's medical expenses this saturday, March 5, 2011. The Annual Lehi Days Rodeo on Horne and Lehi (just north of McKellips) starts early saturday and goes all day. There will be a bake sale set up at the house just east of the church on Lehi road, and all proceeds go to Adam's medical savings account.
Also Saturday morning from 7-noon aunt Kari's neighbor and friend will be doing a yard sale for Adam. There have been a lot of things donated so it should be a great sale. All proceeds also go to Adam's medical expenses. The yard sale is located at 18804 E. Superstition Dr. (queen creek, AZ 85242 if you want to mapquest it) in the Cortina housing development. The crossroads are Power and Germann. Go East on Germann 1/4 mile and turn right (south) on 188th st. Go down to the 2nd left go east on Kingbird. It curves around and then turn right on Superstition Dr. 18804 is at the end of the cul-de-sac.
We really appreciate all the hard work and donated items others have given to these fundraisers.
Adam has really low counts right now so he won't be able to do anything but stay home with mom this weekend, but he knows people are doing fun and nice things for him so he's happy.

good thoughts

Hooray! My dad is coming home tomorrow and he got 100% at his training class! He is the smartest dad ever. I got to spend the whole day with my mom since she is home, too sick to be with Adam, and I had to stay home with the croup. Then my other little brother came home from school with a fever. Why are these good thoughts? Because Adam is actually safe in the hospital, away from all our sickness at home! They still haven't got his fevers to stop, so please keep praying (with us) for him to get rid of those fevers so he can be well and come home. Oh, and click on our Facebook page and "LIKE" it so you can see more photos and updates!!!!!!
Well that's all, Goodnight!

Creepy,Pies, And Little Brothers!

Today at school went a little differently than normal, so many people just stared at me, like I had throw-up all over my face. One of my friends came up to me and said what's wrong?  I didn't know how she knew something was wrong. Itwas like she was a mind- reader!  So I told her all about how things went last night and she completely understood how I felt, she actually did, her little brother had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. Her little brother had pnymonia, so it was really bad for her family. Right now my sister is leaning on my shoulder for me to comfort her. She is going to type something ( I have no clue what,) but she wants to tell you all something.
Hey! Grace here, and I have something to tell you. My brother has Lukiemia a type of cancer. Wait-a-minute! Did Hope tell you already? Darn it I always miss out on the good stuff. My siblings (Hope and my annoying brother the other one, mr cheese) are going to make a pie with our grandma.
  "Hey!"
  "Crash!"
  "Sorry,We NEEEEEEED togo,bYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
